Star Wars: Battlefront II somehow survived the last year, and Electronic Arts hopes that in 2018 they will “get up on their feet”. After a calm month of January, on the official website they announced that new gaming features are coming, starting from this month.
That is when a new game mod called Jetpack Cargo is coming. In this mod two teams of eight players will clash in a match where everyone will have jetpacks. This mod, however, will only be available for a limited time.
But in March, something that will be more durable and more significant for the entire Star Wars: Battlefront is coming. Electronic Arts has revealed that DICE is working on a new, changed progression system. They say the new system is tailored to the players’ feedback and will bring many changes that players have been looking for since the game’s release.
And the players did not really ask for much, only that the progress was not related to the opening of a random loot box. But as the entire system was designed with microtransactions in mind, and microtransactions have not emerged in the game so far, what we got was a corrupt and streamlined progression system that was easy to exploit – at the expense of the game itself.
