I honestly did not believe that the Resident Evil will ever be more relevant in the horror genre. The sixth part of the series is directed towards science fiction and made sure that players always have something and by whom to shoot. It seemed that its creators is not in the interest of listening to the fans but they’re more ingratiate yourself to the audience, which knows only the shooter. The future of the series was questionable, but it is almost out of nowhere came a reversal of the situation. First, we welcome the announcement that the Resident Evil 2 finally get eternally required processing; and then we were met by an even bigger surprise – Resident Evil 7 returns tense atmosphere and the mechanics of survival with limited resources.
Indeed, I can confirm that the atmosphere of the game is very uncomfortable, and gameplay itself reminiscent of the best days of Resident Evil games.Part seven doesn’t have no major links with prevous parts of story, which I think is good news if you just remember to what the extremes go as soon as you mention the surname Wesker. This is a separate chapter with a new protagonist Ethan and his missing girlfriend Mia for which he seeks to neglect the American farm. However, the story takes place in the world of the previous games so expect the occasional references to some of the old places and familiar characters.
The story is wonderfully silly to the typical Resi way. You know – someone is hiding relief three-headed dog that unlocks the front door of the house, and you have to find, because God forbid that your instinct for survival indicate that break the window and so escape. Anyway, I’d say they are twists and surprises correctly timed and that is the theme of “family relationships” quite well processed. What’s good about the presentation of the story in RE7 is that everything is fine clarified and rounded, without any ambiguity. Text documents that explain the background are scattered so that it is almost impossible to miss, and are short enough to read between the lines that already can figure out what it was. All in all, I think I made a mistake with the statement that week is the best story in the previous Resi series.
Format gameplay in part seven is most similar to the original Resident Evil in 1996. Explore the big house, solve puzzles and carefully manage inventory in which one key is about the same size as the jar of nutella which will lure mutated wasps that you can go to the credit card used to open the back door of the boiler room. Of course, this is a scenic view of the situation. The real puzzle is not complex but challenging enough so that you are glad that they all revolve around them. The game is important to correct and you do not keep on hand than your own logical approach to problem solving. You have a reminder of what you current job and that’s all – there is no indication where to go and which way, no lit subjects that you need to pick up. Even the tutorial is very superficial, so you learn only the basics while others learn the tricks experimentation or error.

Punishing players is mitigated compared to previous games in the series. For example, if you die you will not go back to the last manually saved game than at a nearby checkpoint. On the one hand reduces the fear of dying, but do not expect the RE7 can not just run through. Here I tried out tactics in a basement, but instead of remembering where we are going to escape from mighty enemies I was so panicked that the only thought of going back to this place was scary though I knew I would not lose a lot if they kill me. Note that this applies to normal weight, which is the highest available setting the weight at the first crossing. Madhouse weight limits capture and reduce checkpoints, but it is unlocked only after an already finished game.
