Just like the Killzone server for the PS3 console, Gran Turismo 6 will lose its online function by this year’s spring. Although it is a game that has only recently celebrated its four years of existence, Sony thinks that there is no place for it next to Gran Turismo Sport so its online multiplayer version will be shut down on 28 March 2018.
Apart from the online multiplayer, Gran Turismo 6 will lose some more functions. Until the end of this month, 31st January, game owners will be able to download all DLC packages (additional cars) but after that date the aforementioned will no longer be available. The same applies to the Track Path Editor mobile app which will also go to the big place in the sky after March 28th.
Shutting down the server will not otherwise affect the singleplayer component of the game, except for the already mentioned deletion of the DLC package for all players that have not installed them.
