Lately, from personal interests, I’ve been studying design of some expensive menu titles and I have to confide you that I noticed something. No matter how many years I loved the first Dishonored whose sequel won me again this week , and I was thinking how to start this text, I figured out that out of gameplay, it is pretty average game. Now that we have crossed the barriers of opening sentences let me explain what I mean in the case of Dishonored 2 and by the way, in case you get lost in the text – that is absolutely great resume and premium game itself.

However this is a continuation of one of the finest and most creative examples of defiance industry trends. Instead of tilting photorealism, it looks a bit like a digitized watercolor, instead of indefinitely large or procedurally generated worlds, the game is divided into folders designed and tuned to the last little detail. Of course I barely waited for Dishonored 2 to be published and even get PS4 for a review because I have some problems with the computer. And then what? And nothing, nothing special, I took it, I was quite disappointed and did not want to play at once.

And now I know why, you see, the first half hour you practically do not play the game. Frankly, I advise you to just run through that first mission, do not bother. The story is forcibly crammed down and even the main characters that we know from the last adventure continue to suck like mashed potato powder. “I wonder what my father Corvo, by the way, and royal patron who saved my life exposing a conspiracy thinks about it. Father, Corvo, a royal protector you … blah, blah … what do you think about this lady that you do not know, but that is supposedly my aunt and who claims to have come take the throne which I roam? “Basically, it sucks.

In fact, when you summarize the story of entire game in a couple of sentences on paper, it even sounds good, has a somewhat traditional structure of dramatic forms. And now, news of the day – this is a video game, not the play; in video games you can directly manage the characters from the first or third person, you do not need omniscient narrator who will evoke situation at the site as early Modern Age peasant who has dug more nose than from books. The only character with whom I was able to connect was the maid Alexi because she’s only one who sums up the whole scene in every sentence, and she’s in the game approx. twenty seconds and then gets killed … they kill her hard … and it is a powerful motive.

My last official and sincere recommendation is that if at all possible, get the PC version, when the technical problems of which it still suffers, get fixed, because on the consoles, as expected, it’s unwieldy and limited controller, but still damn funny and irresistible on your way.
