They say that this is the year of VR or virtual reality, but let’s be realistic – VR Headset for PCs this year will be too expensive for an average gamer, and require brutal configuration for normal playing. So if you want to upgrade your PC gaming experience to the level of what you are watching while enjoying the games, buying a new monitor optimized for video games is definitely a better option. Especially if these days if you’re only making your new gamin configuration and monitor because you’ve had enough with that few years old 19 or 21 inch screen.
One of the candidates that stands out these days in the market is gaming monitor model G2460VQ6 from AOC, already fairly well known company whose logo you can see on the shirts of some esports teams like Na’Vi. This 24-inch Full HD recently arrived in our offices to test and surprised us with its performance in relation to price.
To lower the price and open the door to gamers with a lower budget, the AOC saved on the elements that isn’t so important to the players at the end of the day. It can be adjusted only by tilting the screen forward for 5 degrees and backward by 20 degrees. And that’s it. The design of the monitor is reasonably stylish, but also shows gaming at the same time, the red plastic part at the bottom of which is well matched with AMD’s visual identity. The plastic border around the screen is processed in a way that gives the impression of brushed aluminum might leave conclusion of your friends that this is a somewhat expensive piece of hardware.
Matte coating over the screen helps to reduce reflections in very bright rooms, and preinstalled speakers with power of only 2W will benefit in situations where you do not have better audio equipment in the vicinity, but do not depend on the quality and volume of their sound reproduction because it isn’t, as expected, for any praise. Actually, I would prefer if they would remove the speakers and lower the price, but what is done is done.
Although it has even praised the good interpretation of colors for the price you requested, we would say that this is not an ideal choice for web and graphic designers among you (although you probably do not really need to look for a monitor of this ranking), but if you buy a monitor for your new gaming machine with AMD hardware, and do not have more than 180 $ budget for the monitor, the AOC G2460VQ6 will give you great time. Even if you find a monitor that costs few more dollars, you won’t be able to find as good specifications for gamer like on this one.
